Alchemy Future Leaders Forum speaker profile: Mumbi Mwila


Alchemy Women in Leadership (A.WiL) will on Saturday September 28, 2013 hold its first Alchemy Future Leaders Forum for women aged 18 to 30. The event is sponsored by Foschini.

We are pleased to introduce to you Mumbi Kandeke Mwila, one of the keynote speakers at the event.
 

Mumbi is the Human Resource Director for Airtel Zambia and has over 10 years of progressive experience in the industry. She will be speaking about fast tracking your career and her presentation is titled “positioning yourself for a successful career”. Participants looking to learn from an expert the fundamentals of getting a job or excelling once you get one should not miss this presentation.

Mumbi is a seasoned Human Resource practitioner and her past professional experience includes being on a graduate programme that exposed her to leadership development among students at UNZA, being a Training and Development Facilitator and being a Human Resource Manager. She has also worked as a Human Resource Business Partner in Zambia and briefly in Sierra Leone. From 2008, she worked as Human Resource Manager for Zain Sierra Leone until her appointment as Human Resource Director for Airtel Zambia in 2010.

Mumbi has a BSc in Education and recently completed her MBA. She is a Trustee on the Celtel Zambia Plc Pension Trust Fund and a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
A wife and mother of two, Mumbi describes herself as a hard working, determined and headstrong individual who has a heart for people. She enjoys learning, passing on knowledge and developing people.

The Alchemy Future Leaders Forum will be held at the Commonwealth Youth Center within the University of Zambia Great East Road Campus from 08:00-17:00. The morning session will have presentations by experts from different fields and in the afternoon it will be an interactive mentorship session with some of the speakers joining the participants at their tables.
